What is Rucking?

Rucking is simply walking with weight on your back. It is a full body, low impact exercise that torches calories and builds strength and stamina. It gives you the ability to explore amazing places in the great outdoors.

All About Rec Fit Ruck Club

My Rec Fit Ruck Club  is an outdoor fitness experience designed to build strength, stamina, and camaraderie—one step at a time. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to push your limits, the program features four levels of difficulty,  allowing you to progress at your own pace.
Here’s what you can expect:
  • Weekly Group Rucks: Join like-minded individuals for scheduled group rucks that keep you moving and motivated.
  • Private Facebook Community: Stay connected and accountable with our exclusive group, where members celebrate accomplishments, share tips, and support each other.
  • Nutrition Education: Receive formal nutrition guidance, recipes, and tips to fuel your rucks and improve overall health.
  • Functional Movements & Mobility: Access instructional videos that help improve movement quality, recovery, and injury prevention.
  • Monthly Calendar: Plan ahead with our monthly calendar featuring all group ruck locations and dates.
  • Group Event Outings: Take your training off the beaten path with special group outings that add adventure and variety.
Whether you're rucking for fitness, fun, or friendship, this program meets you where you are—and helps you go farther together.
Choose your level of difficulty!
Each month you will decide what level of difficulty to set your mileage and fitness goals at. Feel free to level up or down each month to accommodate your lifestyle, goals, and schedule. The levels include the following:
Introductory
Perfect for first-timers or those returning after a long break. Easy pace, short distance (10 miles/month), flat terrain, and no added weight. A low number of reps of functional movements are optional. Our focus is on movement, fun, and connection.

Beginner
Ideal for those building consistency. Moderate pace, 25 miles/month, low-rep functional movements, and optional light ruck weight (5–10 lbs). Focus on developing endurance and confidence.

Intermediate
For those with a solid base looking to challenge themselves. Brisk pace, 50 miles/month, mixed terrain, and moderate ruck weight (10–20 lbs). A moderate number of reps for each functional movement. Expect a good sweat and a sense of accomplishment.

Advanced
Geared toward seasoned ruckers. Fast pace, 100 miles/month, rough terrain, and heavier ruck weight (20+ lbs). Higher rep scheme of functional movements . Demands stamina, grit, and a love for pushing limits.

Functional Movements 

The beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels include a dedicated functional movement routine focused on building total-body strength, stability, and mobility.
Sample Functional Movement Circuits:
Week 1:
  • 20 Flutter Kicks
  • 10 Bench Press
  • 20 Forward Lunges (10 per leg)
  • 30 Seconds of Alternating Bird-Dogs
​Week 2
  • 20 Squats
  • 10 Push Press
  • 20 Glute Bridges
  • 30 Seconds of Shoulder Taps in a Plank Hold
The higher the level, the more rounds you will complete for each circuit.
